ABOUT CATARACT SURGERY BRISBANE
KindSIGHT – INDOOROOPILLY & REDCLIFFE
At KindSIGHT, we live by a philosophy that caring for you goes beyond just treating eyes. It’s our mission to allay your concerns and provide a first-class experience through genuine care, communication and connection.
The comprehensive consultation and pre-operative assessment starts ideally with a detailed historical eye health report from your optometrist. This, in conjunction with the Lifestyle & SPEED (dry eye) questionnaire, creates a platform of information the KindSIGHT team will build on.
It is important that you have time to consider your options and are in a position to make an informed decision about your surgery. Therefore, two separate appointments are scheduled for you prior to surgery in order to facilitate this.
WHEN SHOULD I CONSIDER CATARACT SURGERY?
Your decision to have cataract surgery will ultimately come down to whether you feel the benefit outweighs the small risk associated with surgery. The timing of surgery is different for everyone. No matter how mature your cataracts are, it’s always ‘possible’ to remove them.
When making the decision to have your cataracts removed you also need to consider:
- The degree your sight is affected.
- How your daily activities or vision requirements are affected.
- Do you only have sight in one eye?
- Do you have any other eye disease?
WILL I BE ABLE TO GET RID OF MY GLASSES?
Many of our patients can see without the need for glasses. Determining if this will be the case for you requires a detailed assessment of your lifestyle and daily activities. This is done as part of your cataract assessment and includes our Lifestyle questionnaire. As a result, we will recommend an option to ensure you get the best outcome based on your daily activities and lifestyle.
